We had to make a up a celebration for whole world to enjoy because it was for our BLOG CHALLENGE.

  1. Hello Rachel,

My name is Merry Beau and this morning I was assigned as your mentor in the Student Blogging Challenge. This is my second year working as a mentor. Since the beginning of March I had been visiting twenty seven students who had signed up for the challenge.

Ten were doing the challenges and answering comments but the others weren’t. So today I have been given new students to mentor instead and you are one of them. I am looking forward to seeing your work on your blog and your responses to the Student Blogging Challenge.

To show you are doing the challenge, you can add a badge. Here are the instructions how: https://studentchallenge.edublogs.org/2015/02/21/2015-student-blogging-challenge-badges-are-here/

I am a teacher from Ireland. I teach students between the ages of five and twelve. I have a grown up son and daughter myself and a dog. My own students have a blog. Perhaps you would like to visit. Here is the link: http://merrybeau.edublogs.org/

On the top menu bar is written ‘Student Favourites’. There you will find the educational games they most like to play.

I would love to hear back from you. Otherwise I will feel like I am talking to myself and as you know that is not much fun.

    With every good wish
    Merry Beau.

  2. Hi Rachel,

My name is Merry Beau and I am your Student Blogging Challenge mentor. The new blogging challenges are posted today http://studentchallenge.edublogs.org/2015/04/19/week-6-lets-work-then-play/
I will be interested which you will chose and what you will do. I look forward to reading your work.

In particular this week, check how many of the following you have ready for a game in the Student Blogging Challenge which will begin in a week or so.

'To take part in this game, all classes and students will need the following:

    - a user avatar if possible
    - an ‘about me’ PAGE if using Edublogs or a post if using other platforms
    - a clustrmap or flag counter widget – if your clustrmap is greyed out, check out :http://www.xpress360.net.au/blog/2015/04/06/whats-happened-to-my-clustrmap/
    - at least four interesting posts – could be topics of your choice not necessarily from the challenge
    - your ‘Recent Comments’ widget on the sidebar with 10 comments as the choice – Edublogs
    - your ‘Recent Posts’ widget on the sidebar with 10 posts as the choice – Edublogs
    - your ‘Pages’ widget on the sidebar or pages in the header – Edublogs
    - at least 10 student and/or classes linked on your blogroll
at least three overseas blogs on your blogroll
    - posts tagged or categorized to make it easier to find interesting posts on each blog
The more students or classes you have linked on your blog, the more fun the game will be
The most important of these are the links to other student blogs on your sidebar.'

Once again, I would love a reply to my comment. Commenting back is all part of the Student Blogging Challenge, Good luck and have a great week,

    Merry Beau

  3. Dear Rachel,
My name is Jennifer. I am doing the blogging challenge just like you :)
That sounds like a great holiday! I love animals. Me and my friends had a raffle to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund and we raised $471
I have two dogs and a rabbit. Do you have any pets? If so, what are they?
I hope I hear back from you! You can visit my blog at http://blogs.csdvt.org/jenniferm/

    3. Do you have any pets?

  4. Hi Rachel,

I like the sound of Pets' Day :)
I think pets make the world a better place.
They say petting a dog is very calming.
I always pat my dog on the head on the way out to work in the morning,
It sets me up for the day ahead.

I like the poster you designed for this post.

    With every good wish

    Merry Beau
